How VEED's dashboard works

Learn how VEED's dashboard works. Generate AI videos with AI Studio Lite, create assets, manage Brand Kits, Spaces, and projects — all from one place.

The Dashboard is your hub for creating AI videos, managing your assets, and controlling your projects, billing, and account settings. This guide walks through every section of the dashboard so you can find what you need quickly, whether you are opening VEED for the first time or returning to a layout that has recently changed.

Home page

The home page is the starting point for everything else in the dashboard. From here you can access your settings, previous projects, assets, and templates, and create new talking character videos.

At the centre of the home page is the prompt box, which starts the AI flow. You can type a prompt, paste a script, or choose one of the templates below the box to get started quickly.

Please note that credits are required to generate a video. Creating a script and a project does not use credits. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to create a free account before you can generate.

Left navigation menu

Your primary navigation runs down the left side of the dashboard. Each section is covered in more detail further down this article:

  • New video: Returns you to the home page, where you can start a new project for a talking head video.

  • Edit video: Clicking this button opens the editor, where you can add talking characters, subtitles, remove background, stock footage, and more. This is your main entry point for editing any project.

    • If you want to start a project that isn't a talking character video, click Edit video and a new project will be created instantly

  • New asset: Opens AI Playground, where you can generate images and videos with AI.

  • Assets: Shows the assets already in your workspace and lets you upload more from your computer.

  • Brand: Shows the Brand Kits in your workspace and lets you create a new one.

  • Templates: Lets you create a template and access your existing ones. Please note that this tab is only available for Studio and Enterprise users. If you do not see the Templates tab, it is because your current plan does not have that feature.

  • Recents: Shows the projects you have worked on most recently. Click View all to open your full Project Library.

At the bottom of the left navigation you will also find:

How to generate a video with AI Studio Lite

AI Studio Lite is a simplified way to generate AI videos from either a prompt or an existing script.

Start by entering a prompt or pasting a script into the prompt box on the home page. You can then adjust settings such as Character, Subtitle style, Background music, Audience, Video type, Tone of voice, Platform, and Aspect ratio.

If you start with a prompt, you can also set a Target duration. Target duration is not available when you start with a script.

Starting with a prompt

  1. Type your idea into the prompt box and submit it.

  2. AI Studio Lite generates a script for you.

  3. Review the script. You can edit it, regenerate it, or change the original prompt and generate a new one.

  4. When you are happy with the script, click Generate Video to create your talking character video.

Starting with a script

  1. Select the Script tab.

  2. Paste your script into the box. AI Studio Lite will use it directly, without generating a new one.

  3. Adjust the available project settings, then click Generate Video.

After your video is generated

Once your video is ready, you can:

  • Download the finished video.

  • Edit it in the editor.

  • Make variants of it:

    • Reuse Topic takes you back to the home page with your topic and project settings already filled in.

    • Reuse Script takes you back to the home page in script mode, with your script and project settings already filled in.

    • New video takes you back to the home page with an empty prompt box.

How to create assets with AI Playground

From the New asset page you can generate images and videos with AI. You can start from a template, or write your own prompt and set the model, target duration, and aspect ratio. You can also add supporting assets, such as a product image, before you submit.

Assets you generate or upload are stored in the Assets section of the left navigation, ready to drop into any project.

The bar across the top of the dashboard gives you:

FAQ

Why is my generated video longer or shorter than the target duration I set?

Target duration guides the length of the script rather than the finished video. The script is written for an average reading pace, but the voice you choose may speak faster or slower than that, so the final video can come out shorter or longer than expected.

How do I change the language of my character's voice?

Click the character pill to open the Characters panel. Select a character, click the settings icon on its tile, and you will find the language option there. This is separate from the interface language in your profile settings.

Can I use a cloned voice when generating a video?

Yes. Any voice clone already in your workspace can be used. Click the character pill, then click the settings button in the top-right corner of the selected character's tile. Voice clones appear at the top of the list of voices.

Is there a limit to how long my script can be?

Yes. Scripts in AI Studio Lite are limited to 5,000 characters.

Why can't I see Resize for Social on some projects?

Resize for Social only appears on projects that have already been exported. Export the project first and the option will become available.

Do I need credits to use the dashboard?

You need credits to generate a video. Creating a script and setting up a project does not use credits. If you are not signed in, you will need to create a free account before generating
