Step-by-step: Compress your video
Go to the Video Compressor
Visit: veed.io/tools/video-compressor and click "Compress a Video".Click “Choose video”
Upload the video you want to compress.Wait for the upload to complete
Once uploaded, you’ll see a small window at the top right.Adjust your compression settings
In the window you'll find Basic Settings:Quality selector – Quickly choose a quality level.
Resolution – Change the resolution of your video.
(Optional) Click on “Advanced settings”
You can use the advanced settings to set the following parameters:CRF (Constant Rate Factor):
CRF means constant rate factor. This sets how close the video's quality should be to the original one and tries to keep it constant throughout the video. This setting is better if you want to get a smaller file. A lower number indicates lower compression.Bitrate:
Bitrate sets how much information should be stored about the video in a set amount of time. This setting is better if you want to stream the video(show it on another site). A lower number indicates higher compression.Framerate limit (FPS upper limit):
This sets what the highest frame rate can be during the video. This setting cannot increase the frame rate of a video. If your video is 30 FPS and you set the FPS to a higher value, the video will still be compressed into 30 FPS. If you set the FPS to lower than the original video's FPS, it will compress the video to this lower amount.
Click “Compress Video”
Your video will begin compressing.Download or re-compress your video
Once done, you can download the compressed file, change the compression settings, or upload another video to compress.
FAQ
Q: The file size didn't change much. Why is this?
You need to set the compression settings in a way that compresses the file further. If you don't change the settings much, the compressor won't be able to compress the file too much, resulting in a small size saving.
Q: Can I compress a project that I have in my account?
To compress a project you have in your account, you need to export the project, download the video file, and then upload it to the compressor. There is no way for you to upload the project straight to the compressor right now.
