Remove Silence

Updated over a week ago

The Remove Silences tool helps clean up your recordings by cutting out parts with no sound — making your content more engaging and concise. Here is a guide to help you get started.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Available For: This feature is available for all plans.

Limitations

  • The tool only removes complete silences. If there’s any sound — speech, breathing, or background noise — it won’t be removed.

  • The tool will cut the silent parts of the video and remove the resulting gaps too, making your video play smoothly without gaps in it.

How to Use the Silence Removal Tool

  1. Go to VEED.IO and log in or create an account.

  2. Click Create Project and upload your video or audio file.

  3. Once your file is uploaded, select it in the timeline or on the canvas.

  4. In the Edit panel that appears, scroll down and click Remove Silences.

  5. Wait a few moments — once the process is complete, you’ll see a blue checkmark on the button.

FAQ

  • Q: The Remove Silence button already has a checkmark next to it after I upload my file. Why is that?

    • If there is already a checkmark next to the button, it means that we can't detect any silences in the video or audio file, meaning the silence is already removed from it.

  • Q: Why did I receive an error message saying 'There are too many silences', and what can I do?

    • Sometimes, our tool cannot remove all of the silences in your file if there are too many. Cut your video or audio file into smaller portions and try again.
