As part of our Terms of Use we require that VEED users abide by this Code of Conduct.
Capitalised terms shall have the meaning set out in the Terms of Use unless otherwise stated.
Enforcement
All users must use our Applications and services responsibly. You must not use our Applications to create, edit, modify or distribute any content which is or would reasonably be considered to be illegal, harmful, deceptive, distasteful or otherwise inappropriate.
We reserve the right to take any appropriate measure to protect our legitimate interests if we reasonably consider a user to have acted in breach of or contrary to the standards of behaviour set out in this Code of Conduct, including denying users access to VEED, our Applications or our services, terminating contracts, removing offensive content, reporting any misconduct using our Applications or services to relevant stakeholders and/or competent authorities (including, without limitation, judicial or administrative authorities).
Prohibited Activities
By accessing our Applications or using any of the functionality available on our Applications you agree that you shall not use our Applications in connection with or to create, edit, modify or distribute any content:
that violates any applicable state, national or international law or regulation.
which exploits, harms, or attempts to exploit or harm any person (and in particular, minors) in any way, for example by exposing them to or making available inappropriate content.
of a sexual nature (in particular, pornographic or sexually explicit content, any non-consensual sexual content or any sexual content depicting anyone who appears to be under the age of 18).
That depicts, promotes or condones self-harm.
That promotes, glorifies or condones abuse, violence, physical harm, coercive or controlling behaviour or encourages anyone to commit serious wrongdoing.
That promotes, glorifies or condones or could facilitate or incite fraud, trafficking, terrorism (or terrorist organisations) or any other criminal activity.
That depicts or promotes animal abuse.
Containing threats or which would reasonably be considered to be for the bullying, stalking or harassment of any person.
That is intended to humiliate, threaten, intimidate or cause distress to any person.
That promotes, glorifies or condones hatred, violence or discrimination against any person or group of people (including, but not limited to, on grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation).
That is misleading or deceptive or impersonates (or attempts to impersonate) any person or organisation (this includes, by way of non-limiting examples, creating AI content which falsely depicts a person, fraudulent endorsements or misleading political content)
that misleads or attempts to mislead any person as to the origin or authenticity of content. This includes any actual or attempt to remove, deface, obscure, modify or circumvent any Provenance Marking or functionality to enable the identification of AI content.
That constitutes personal data or personally identifiable information without the consent of the relevant person, including a person’s name, image, voice or other information about them.
that is obscene, libelous, defamatory, deceitful, immoral, insulting, fraudulent,.
that is false or may create unjustified alarm.
Of a political nature, such as the promotion, advertisement or endorsement of any party, candidate or elected official.
that infringes, breaches or misappropriates the rights of any third-party, including but not limited to state, military, trade, or professional secrets and personal data.
that infringes any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to any patent, trade mark, design or copyright , or breaches any trade secret or duty of confidentiality.
That copies or emulates the style of a known artist.
Further, you must not:
interfere with or attempt to interfere with VEED's security features, or do any other thing that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of our Applications.
undertake text and/or data mining in relation to our Applications and content accessible through our Applications;
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, object code, underlying structure, ideas, know-how, or algorithms relevant to our Applications; modify, translate, or create derivative works based on our Applications; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Applications or any related systems or networks, or circumvent any security or authentication measures.
engage in any conduct which may harm or offend VEED, it's employees or directors or other users of our Applications or expose them to harmful content or liability.
damage or falsify VEED's ratings or reputation.
disrupt, interrupt, harm, or otherwise violate the integrity of our Applications or another user's experience of our Applications. Such activities include, for example: spamming, distributing unauthorized advertisements, phishing, defrauding others, spreading malware or viruses, etc.
Handling Highly Sensitive Data
VEED takes security and data privacy very seriously. However, we note there are types of particularly sensitive data (such as patient health data or national security information) that certain jurisdictions do not allow to be processed outside of their territory or would require additional controls that VEED does not have in place.
As such:
you must not upload or request processing by VEED of any data that would require privacy and security standards higher than those set out in our Privacy Policy.

Specifically, you must not upload the following data to VEED:
social security numbers or other government-issued identification numbers;
protected health information subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or other information regarding an individual's medical history, mental or physical condition, or medical treatment or diagnosis by a health care professional;
health insurance information;
passwords to any online accounts;
credentials to any financial accounts;
tax return data;
any payment card information or any other data which is subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard;
any other information that falls within any special categories of personal data (as set out in Article 9(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation); 'sensitive personal information' or 'sensitive personal data' as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US State Privacy Laws;
data relating to criminal convictions and offences or related security measures.
Child abuse and exploitation
We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation and abuse.
You must not use our Applications to:
create, generate, edit or distribute child sexual abuse material;
sexualise or exploit children or young people;
create AI-generated or manipulated sexual content depicting a child;
create or distribute sexualised deepfakes involving a child;
solicit, encourage or facilitate the sexual exploitation of a child;
groom or facilitate the grooming of a child;
assist another person in committing child sexual exploitation or abuse;
create, generate, edit or distribute content which promotes, glorifies or encourages suicide (including suicide ideation), self-harm, eating disorders or bullying.
This prohibition applies whether the material is photographic, video, audio, animated, synthetic or AI-generated. For the purposes of this Code of Conduct, a “child” means any person below the age of 18.
We may take immediate action where content presents a risk to a child, including restricting accounts, preserving relevant information and making reports to appropriate authorities.
Avatar and Digital Voice Usage Restrictions
In relation to the use of digital avatars and digital voices, that are generated through data captured to recreate the likeness, sound and physical appearance of real individuals - in order to comply with the licensing terms agreed upon with VEED's subcontractors, or with the actors and to protect the rights and reputation of the actors, additional restrictions apply.
In addition to general restrictions, users shall not use avatars or use an actors’ voice:
alongside or in connection with regulated or age-inappropriate goods or services including, but not limited to, alcohol, tobacco, nicotine (including vaping products), psychoactive substances, firearms, gambling, contraceptives, sex toys, escort services, dating services, adult entertainment venues and similar;
in content that makes any kind of statement of fact regarding religion, politics, race, gender, sexuality, or other similar topics that are known to be sensitive to certain demographics;
in content in a way that a person would reasonably find offensive; or
in content which portrays any Stock Avatar as suffering from or medicating for any medical condition, including addiction.
