As part of our Terms of Use we require that VEED users abide by this Code of Conduct.

We reserve the right to take any appropriate measure to protect our legitimate interests, including denying users access to VEED, the Application or the Service, terminating contracts, removing offensive content, reporting any misconduct performed through this Application or the Service to impacted stakeholders or competent authorities – such as judicial or administrative authorities. - whenever Users, in our opinion, are suspected of breaching these Terms, including, but not limited to, by using VEED, the Application or Services, in any of the following activities:

  • In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation.

  • For the purpose of exploiting, harming, or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way by exposing them to inappropriate content or otherwise.

  • For the purpose of adult entertainment and/or other incriminating content.

  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate, using avatars, AI, text-to-speech or otherwise, any other person or entity.

  • In any way that infringes upon the rights of others or in any way that is obscene, libelous, defamatory, deceitful, immoral, insulting, threatening, fraudulent, bullying, discriminating, racist or harmful.

  • In any other conduct that interferes with VEED’s security features and restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the VEED

  • In any way that may harm or offend VEED, it’s employees or directors or other users of the Service or expose them to liability.

  • Take any action that may damage or falsify VEED’s ratings or reputation

  • For creating or publishing any content that is false or may create unjustified alarm;

  • In any way that infringes on any third-party rights, including but not limited to state, military, trade, or professional secrets and personal data;

  • In any way that breaches Intellectual property laws, including but not limited to patent, trademark, or copyright law, unlawfully and without the legitimate rights-holder's consent;

  • In any way that disrupts, interrupts, harms, or otherwise violates the integrity of this Application or another user’s experience or devices. Such activities include: spamming, distributing unauthorized advertisements, phishing, defrauding others, spreading malware or viruses, etc.;

In relation to processing highly sensitive data. VEED takes security and data privacy very seriously. However, we note there are types of particularly sensitive data (such as patient health data or national security information) that certain jurisdictions do not allow to be processed outside of their territory or would require additional controls that VEED does not have in place. As such we request:

  1. Users do not upload or request processing by VEED of data that would require privacy and security standards higher than those set out under GDPR.

  2. We can discuss specific or custom data processing requirements for Enterprise contracts. Please contact our sales team to find out more.

  3. Specifically, please do not upload the following data to VEED:

    1. social security numbers or other government-issued identification numbers;

    2. protected health information subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or other information regarding an individual’s medical history, mental or physical condition, or medical treatment or diagnosis by a health care professional;

    3. health insurance information;

    4. passwords to any online accounts;

    5. credentials to any financial accounts;

    6. tax return data;

    7. any payment card information subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard;

    8. any other information that falls within any special categories of personal data (as set out in Article 9(1) of the GDPR); 'sensitive personal information' or 'sensitive personal data' as defined in the CCPA and the other State Privacy Laws, respectively;

    9. data relating to criminal convictions and offences or related security measures

In relation to the use of digital avatars and digital voices, that are generated through data captured to recreate the likeness, sound and physical appearance of real individuals - in order to comply with the licensing terms agreed upon with VEED’s subcontractors, or with the actors and to protect the rights and reputation of the actors, additional restrictions apply.

In addition to general restrictions, users shall not use avatars or use an actors voice:

  1. alongside or in connection with regulated or age-inappropriate goods or services including, but not limited to, alcohol, tobacco, nicotine (including vaping products), psychoactive substances, firearms, gambling, contraceptives, sex toys, escort services, dating services, adult entertainment venues and similar.

  2. in content that makes any kind of statement of fact regarding religion, politics, race, gender, sexuality, or other similar topics that are known to be sensitive to certain demographics.

  3. in content in a way that a person would reasonably find offensive,

including, but not limited to portraying Stock Avatar as suffering from or medicating for any medical condition, including addiction.
